Amor Artis is a world-class organization, dedicated to great choral music of all ages, comprised of the stellar Amor Artis Chorus, and Amor Artis Chamber Orchestra. It has achieved considerable international recognition through its many concerts and extensive discography. Now beginning its 52nd season, and under the leadership of its music director, Stephen Somary, Amor Artis is looking toward the future by building upon its commitment to excellence and great attention to musical detail, which have been its standards for decades. Amor Artis performs a series of concerts each season, which exhibit a varied repertoire ranging from the 16th to the 21st centuries. The singers and instrumentalists of Amor Artis are comprised of some of New York City's finest and most stylistic musicians.
In residence at the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral in Soho, Amor Artis strives to enrich the life of this spectacular religious institution. The Amor Artis Chorus sings polyphony at the Basilica on the 3rd Sunday of every month at 12:45, as well as on major Catholic feast days. All are welcome.
The Amor Artis Chorus and Chamber Orchestra have recorded for eight labels, with over 50 releases, and have recently created its own CD company, entitled Amor Artis Edition.
