Savor the innovative and evocative brilliance of Monteverdi’s Eighth Book of Madrigals, the “Songs of Love and War.” Joined by lutenist and guitarist Adam Cockerham and a team of Baroque violinist and continuo, Amor Artis will explore this fascinating 17th-century collection in dialogue with other pieces, from the 15th to the 21st centuries, reflecting on these two extremes of humanity, including a haunting work for chorus with guitar by Jeffrey Van that brings to life Walt Whitman’s poetry from the Civil War.

SUNDAY MARCH 8, 2026 / 4 PM / ALL SOULS NYC AT 1157 LEXINGTON AVE.

We love the innovative music of the 17th century and can’t wait to come back to Monteverdi!
